Like so many startups, Keep The Learning Burning started with an experience fuelled by finding a solution to a problem. In this case, an end to a fixed term career and a burning passion to apply my learning in a meaningful way. To live with purpose.
This lead to Keep the Learning Burning. Everything about KTLB’s conception has been organic and the experience is equally experiential – we learn through what we go through.
I remember my dad sharing his ‘secret’ of working with me when I was about 19 years old:
“The trick is to find someone who is daft enough to pay you to do something you love doing”.
After several jobs in hospitality and four years in the police, in 2003 I finally found what I love doing…developing people. To be more exact, empowering individuals to realise their potential, to develop and to grow is what excites me and Keep The Learning Burning is the culmination of this passion. In a nutshell, Keep The Learning Burning comprises of me, two dogs, a rather large horse and my extremely supportive wife and sounding-board Sarah.
I’ve always been involved in traditional learning, in classic corporate settings. However, part of learning is evolving and adapting, and the world has changed. In response, I’m stepping out of the traditional setting and into the great outdoors so that I can help people to explore their inside, outside.
